Economic Development Incentive Program - This program provides an economic development incentive rate for electricity to new or expanding primary sector business.

STATE INCENTIVES
Minnesota Investment Fund

The Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) is willing to explore assistance for capital costs. Depending on the number of jobs you add to Minnesota, within two years of the plant’s opening, the Minnesota Investment Fund could provide up to $500,000 for fixed assets such as machinery and equipment, with a 10-year maximum repayment term. Moorhead is the formal applicant to the state on behalf of your business and will consider a $100,000 grant towards repayment. Availability of this program also depends on funding that the department has at any given time in its fiscal year.
Job Skills Partnership Program

Minnesota companies have extensively used the Job Skills Partnership Program to partner with educational institutions in Minnesota to create and implement training programs in a variety of manufacturing industries. DEED will eagerly pursue any options that call for customized training in which the services of a technical or community college are needed. A grant of up to is $400,000, which is awarded to the educational institution, helps underwrite the cost of developing curriculum and delivering it – which can be done on premises. The amount of the grant depends upon the training package and match provided by your company (cash or in-kind contribution).
